January 9th is the first day of school after the New Year. Today, the teacher brought the students to pay a visit to the Shrine of Kobayama Shrine near the school, allowing them to experience the local New Year atmosphere in Japan.
After the New Year, it is the first time to visit a shrine, temple, etc., offering a year of gratitude and praying for peace and security in the new year. In Japan, it is called New Year worship, also known as first visit or first visit.
